For the 6th consecutive year, Manubens Lawyers once again will be attending MAPIC in Cannes, France – the leading International Retail Property Market Exhibition.

This has enabled us to develop strong relationships with retail clients, retail investors and developers from across the world.

These relationships have allowed us to know the latest challenges companies are facing when looking to venture into Europe. It has enabled us to showcase our local expertise and practical insight to ensure companies avoid the many business and legal pitfalls that exist when considering investing into the Spanish and European markets and also help them benefit from the numerous opportunities that exist.

Investment in retail in Spain broke all records in 2017 with more than €3.9 billion invested through 71 transactions (up 31% versus 2016).  It is the leading real estate sector in investment terms and the recovery of the Spanish economy and the rental market is having a positive effect on the retail investment market. This is continuing through 2018 and is expected to continue in 2019 with 11 new retail complexes expected to open.

Globally, consumer behaviour has changed significantly over recent years particularly with the rise of e-commerce which has become the largest distributor in the retail market. Accordingly, retail and leisure operators are introducing new initiatives to adapt to these changing demands of consumers, including solutions and new business models. All of this collectively changes the way transactions are structured and closed.

Our team would welcome to discuss of this with you during MAPIC. We are exhibiting in stand R7:C21 (in the AECC Pavilion). If interested, please contact Mandeep Johal at mjohal@manubens.com to schedule an appointment or stop by at your convenience.

We look forward to seeing you in Cannes!
